Design of Industrial Emissions Monitoring System
Learn about industrial
emissions monitoring
Industrial emissions are
gases generated from industrial production and service activities. They
exist in gas or vapor form.
Emission monitoring is the
monitoring, measurement and analysis of physical and chemical parameters of
that emission source. Emission monitoring is carried out by state
management agencies in the field of environment, or qualified units according
to the provisions of law.
Measurement methods used
mainly to monitor emissions:
Direct measurement method
(Insitu): Sensor installed directly at the chimney and does not require a
sampling system, etc.
Indirect measurement method
(Extractive): Measurement through a sampling system
Emission industries often
cause air pollution such as: Chemical - fertilizer industry, metallurgical
industry, textile industry, food industry, building materials, mechanical
enterprises, light industry factories, etc.
Is it necessary to install an industrial emissions monitoring station?
Emission monitoring aims to
evaluate the efficiency of the production process and to minimize the risk of
air pollution caused by emissions. At the same time, emissions monitoring
also provides objective data to serve local environmental management.
Businesses can develop
environmental status reports, supporting environmental pollution control thanks
to emissions monitoring. From there, it can be assessed whether production
facilities comply with regulations on emission standards before being discharged
into the environment.
Basis for conducting
emissions monitoring
Decree 08/2022/ND-CP has
amended, supplemented and guided the implementation of the latest Law on
Environmental Protection.
Circular 10/2021/TT-BTNM T replaces
Circular 24/2017/TT-BTNMT, which stipulates environmental monitoring
techniques, as a basis for comparison and control of waste discharge from
factories. environment.
Indicators when monitoring emissions
Emission monitoring targets
according to Decree 08/2022/ND-CP - guiding the implementation of the Law on
Environmental Protection:
Fixed environmental
parameters that need to be monitored include flow, pressure, residual O2,
temperature, total dust, NOX, SO2 and CO
Along with specific
parameters for each industry as required.
Based on monitoring
objectives and national technical regulations on the environment,
scale, type of production, characteristics of waste sources, and
requirements from competent state agencies, units can determine monitoring
parameters.
